The coronavirus death toll in the U.S. passed 40,000 late Sunday, according to NBC News’ tally, and there are nearly 760,000 verified cases since Monday evening.

While some guvs pushed back on the Trump administration’s claims that states are carrying out a “sufficient” level of coronavirus screening, other governors were excited to resume organisations in their states no matter testing levels.
